KT SAT provided an emergency satellite communication network and a donation of 100,000 dollars for Philippines’ typhoon damage restoration

KT SAT (www.KTSAT.NET, CEO Ilyoung Kim) reported on 22nd that it will send a donation of 100,000 dollars (about 105 million Korean won) and provide a free disaster emergency recovery communication network using a satellite communication network to recover the damages and help the victims of Philippines that are suffering from typhoon ‘Haiyan.’


A total of 200,000 dollars of donation by KT SAT and KT will be used to provide relief goods to the victims of typhoon and recover damaged areas through the Korean National Red Cross Society.

KT SAT will give free support of its emergency communication network that uses the teleport of Kumsan satellite earth station, cornet backbone internet, and Korea sat no.5 transponder, which will be used as a communication network for local disaster restorations.

KT SAT’s CEO Ilyoung Kim said that “We hope that the people of Philippines are able to strongly overcome the difficult situation. We also hope that KT SAT’s emergency satellite communication network and donation contribute to the local disaster restorations and bring hope back to the people.

Meanwhile, KT SAT provided a satellite service solution during the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, supporting the emergency communication network of local rescue workers. It said it will actively provide relief goods in the occurrence of global disaster crisis in the future. ​​​​
