KT SAT selected 'Excellent Labor-Management Culture Company' in '17

▶ KT SAT was selected by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Labor-Management Development Foundation in '17 Excellent Labor and Management Culture Company’ award.

▶ Labor and management win-win efforts through various labor- management communication and Work & Life Balance programs.

 

Korea's only satellite operator KT SAT(https://www.ktsat.net) said that the company was selected as the '17 Excellent labor-Management Culture Company. Excellent labor-Management Culture Company Award, which is managed by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Korea Labor and Incorporation Development Foundation, is a certification system that selects and supports exemplary practices of win-win labor-management culture. Evaluation items include 6 criteria : ▶ general labor relations (vision and strategy for labor relations), ▶ open management and employees’ participation management, ▶ human resources development and utilization, ▶ improvement of Gainsharing and wage system, ▶ labor welfare and workplace innovation, ▶ social responsibility of labor and management. In '17, 59 companies including KT SAT were eventually selected as excellent labor-management culture companies. The selected companies are supported by 3-year exemption from regular work supervision, 1-year suspension of tax investigation, benefits at public institution bidding, and credit ratings.

 

KT SAT established its own union as the establishment of the company in '12, and has operated various labor-management cooperation programs aiming at labor-management communication. There are semi-annual management briefing for all employees to share management information, quarterly labor-management councils, and labor-management joint committee to improve employee welfare and system improvement.

 

In addition, the KT SAT is practicing many programs to strengthen labor-management relations between labor and management, such as joint labor-management baseball games, labor-management regular volunteer activities, etc. In addition, KT SAT has implemented a variety of Work & Life Balance programs to ensure work-life balance, such as flexible workplace program and Family Day campaign (every Wednesday).

 

Based on this labor-management communication, KT SAT concluded no-dispute negotiations for four years since its founding. In addition, it has contributed to the extension of the retirement age and the agreement on the early implementation of the wage peak system. Mr. Won-sic Hahn, CEO of KT SAT said “to live together, with a "KT SAT has been working to improve its welfare system and promote a fair gain sharing for five years since its establishment," he also said that "Through ’united labor and management', KT SAT will build a labor-management relationship for ≫coexistence, and also take the lead in company’s social responsibility."
